A Constructive Criticism on Genshin's Current Experience
DISCLAIMER: THIS THREAD IS FILLED WITH MY PERSONAL OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCES ONLY, AS SUCH, IT MIGHT BE DIFFERENT THAN OTHER PLAYERS AND PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES. This post is about criticism regarding Genshin Impact's current gameplay experience. This means, highlighting the good aspects of the game while shedding light on the current issues it has. This also means that it doesn't consider future known versions of the game, as it might be subject to change. MY GAMING BACKGROUND I have been gaming for 17 years, and have played over hundreds of games throughout the years, which also includes puzzle games, fighting games, RPGs, MMOs, RTS, FPS, MOBAs, and interactive games. I've watched games grow and evolve, fall up and down in trend, and see how it shaped gamers today. HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN PLAYING GENSHIN? As of now, I'm AR31. I haven't completed every sidequest, nor have found every chest in the game (yet). I have, however, completed the main storyline, finished completing the oculi (geo/anemo), finished some of the side quests (some because I haven't found them all), and currently 9 star up until Floor 5 on abyss (I don't do floors until I can 3* every floor). I'm at the point where the endgame feels sluggish. There's no more content to do except doing daily battle pass, burning up resins, collecting Philanemo mushrooms from Monstadt rooftops, and occasional mob hunts for ascension mats. Basically, at the point where genshin just becomes a chore. WHY AM I MAKING THIS POST? I love genshin. I've told my friends to try it out, and still explore the world even if there's rarely any more to look for, expecting there's more content that I might have missed. I started since early October, and I'm still excited to login to genshin despite it being empty right now. With that said, I am hoping that this post lightens up the current issues the game is facing, as well as show the games upsides and downsides. No game is perfect, but I believe genshin can be SO MUCH MORE than what it is right now. THE GOOD SIDE AND BAD SIDE OF GENSHIN WORLDBUILDING THE GOOD: Genshin's world is BIG. For a version 1 game with the promise of constant updates, casual gamers will always have content to look for. The main storyline is quite compelling, and exploring the world is initially very rewarding. It feels great opening chests, killing mobs, and getting loot. The scenery is pretty great, with a decent amount of flora and fauna without being flooded with cities and structures. There's also secret(s?) that tackle my interest (Nameless island in Monstadt, might be a few more). Monstadt and Liyue have unique experiences in exploration (Liyue IMO might be a mountain climbing simulator but it lives up to its name as the region of the geo element and it has a certain feeling of satisfaction reaching the top and then gliding down, while Monstadt has some areas where flying and gliding is important. Also, there's a middle finger mountain southeast of taishan mansion in Liyue). The bosses look GREAT and are actually frightening the first few times you see them. The music is beautiful as it has me listening to it even while in combat, or just simply exploring. THE BAD: There's not much else to find after your initial explorations. The chest respawns aren't noticable. Little mob variations (I have hilichurl sickness). Domain interior is recycled (every domain looks the same when you go inside) and domains don't have specific mechanics to look for aside from party comps. For a big world, there's few awe-gasping structures to be found in comparison to the world size. Most NPCs feel lifeless. THOUGHTS: Better respawn rate, add random-generated dungeons, more mob variations, add more interior design to domains, add more variation than time-attack combat, add more structures that feel mysterious and that goes deep into lore. Give NPCs more life (Give them voice at least). Arguably, the protagonist dialogues should be voiced too, but this is entirely my opinion, as some people actually prefer the silent protagonist (Persona style), but the witcher series somehow proved to me that voicing dialogues does indeed improve immersion. COMBAT THE GOOD: The combat system is great, it utilizes the party system genshin has, with elemental reactions/combos/synergies being the highlight of it. There's also launcher attacks that can possibly open air juggles. Limitless unit synergies. The dodge feels balanced thanks to the stamina in place. THE BAD: No midair attacks. I'm talking about attacks that you can do while you are in midair, not the dive attack. Fighting airborne enemies with melee units is annoying, and hitting weakpoints being exclusive to archer units for big units like the ruin guards/hunters feel a bit bad (I'm a bit mixed on the weakpoint part, since I somehow feel that that's what makes archers great, but the airborne units like the ruin hunter and the flies feel annoying especially when your archer dies.) Midair attacks are also important for air juggling if they ever do enhance air juggles. THOUGHTS: TBH the combat system is great, not much to say except that it would be great if we could do midair attacks or air juggles better, similar to DMC, pre GoW4, and KH, but possibly not as hardcore. UNIT DESIGN THE GOOD: Each unit is unique, usable, and well-designed (so far). The art is great or good at best, and each character's kit synergizes well thanks to elemental reactions, which make each unit great at any comp. THE BAD: Amber. THOUGHTS: Buff Amber pls. GAME DIFFICULTY THE GOOD: If you're just here to play the game for the story, exploration, and lore, then lucky for you, this game is playable and clearable with the free units given in the game. THE BAD: For thrill seeking hardcore players out there, the only way to have a challenge in this game is handicapping yourself (I tried to kill a WL3 Boreas with a level 20 Amber with some artifacts and weapon smashed in, enough to deal 2% of his health per hit of charged arrow and enough to get oneshot by anything except the ice he leaves on the floor which deals damage). THOUGHTS: For the open world, the difficulty seems reasonable. However, time attacks in domains aren't hard, there's no challenge aside from killing monsters faster. Of course this implies that the real challenge is building your characters, which is behind a resin system, and constellations, which is behind a paywall (of course for whales it's not a deterrent, but for f2ps, it's going to be a big problem if they make it something like kill 10 abyss mages in 30 seconds). My point being, the difficulty is not raised by (just) having better reflexes, but also by having better gear. My notion of "hard" is not a time handicap, but by punishing player mistakes, like slow reaction time, inefficient stamina use, or going in blind. The exception to this are the world bosses and elites, but domains can opt to have "hard" modes that give more loot, that is not time attack. However, I'm not saying that time attacks are ineffective at increasing difficulty, but making things spongier isn't the (only) solution, as it stands, I've never died to a boss (except on my amber vs boreas first run) or any mob, most of them was falling or drowning due to 0 stamina (jump attacks remove/reduce fall damage significantly, but can't be performed at 0 stamina). I might be wrong on how damage is on this game since I'm only on WL3. RESIN SYSTEM THE GOOD: ??? THE BAD: This is what I think of when I S*** so hard I get hemmorhoids and think this is the experience players should have when I play this game, because sitting on your PC too long and finishing contents in genshin means you're stuck pooping hard and painful just to raise your units past AR 30+ or so. Building a character can take a month or so, which involves: Leveling, Ascension, Talents, and TONS OF MORA. You also have to farm ARTIFACTS on top of that, since artifact stats are RNG, it can take you weeks, months, or a year to find the optimal stats for an artifact. For a game rolling out new content every 6 weeks, if they release better artifacts on top of a resin system, it will result in a very big problem: POWERCREEP. sure, this is a single player game, but all gacha games I've played have had this issue, at least at one point, and gacha games I've played are PvE oriented. Powercreep in itself is not a bad issue if it's at a reasonable pace, but since this is just version 1, I can be wrong and mihoyo might be good enough to deal with this. But resin is a very big hurdle to endgame. THOUGHTS: Either they be more generous with fragile resins, reduce primogem cost for resin refills, increase regen rate and max cap, and reduce resin cost for claiming treasure (all of the above at the same time) , OR make resin a drop booster, OR remove it entirely. There's barely any competitive aspect to this game that warrants the stamina system. It's not gonna keep players playing, new updates and content will. COMMENTS/OPINIONS ON OTHER CONTENT THE COOKING SYSTEM: Right now it's useless. It could be useful on abyss, but abyss doesn't allow food buffs. It's an interesting mechanic, but the only use it has is if you don't have a healer in your team (domains or in combat against an elite/world boss), or if a unit dies at which point you use food to revive them during a fight. Outside of emergency use however, There's really not much else. GACHA/GACHA RATES: First of all, I would like to clarify that, despite widespread info claiming "gacha" is a genre, it is, imo, NOT A GENRE BUT A FORM OF MONETIZATION. if you want to play using your money just go to your local casino or hit up your phone and download casino games. As such, "gacha" shouldn't be the defining genre of genshin, as the gacha is actually only restricted to earning units and rare gear, which is just a part of what genshin plays out; Genshin is, first and foremost, a hack and slash open-world ARPG. What this means for me, in big part, is that rationalizing the resin system just because there's gacha elements in obtaining units and rare weapons doesn't mean it should spill over to the RPG experience. Gacha =/= Stamina system. The rates for 5* suck, so to be fair, just reroll until you get the 5* unit you want and they'd still be usable in the long run. STAMINA/RESIN SYSTEM: As I mentioned above, Gacha =/= Stamina System, MMOs have them too, for a multitude of reasons. Gachas I've played do have stamina systems in place, but does that mean every gacha game should have one? the answer is simply NO. Genshin is unlike any other "gacha" game out in the market; and I hope it doesn't become one. CONCLUSION Genshin, as of now, is a great free game with an immersive 20-40 hours of gameplay. As the game constantly will get updates, it is expected that more hours of gameplay will be put in the future. with a development budget of $100 Million, and a reported $100 million in 2 weeks, players SHOULD expect more quality content. The game currently has a vast world waiting to be explored, compelling story, great unit designs, a deep and interactive combat system, with huge potential for more. Despite the game's greatness, it is ultimately held back by the resin system, which hampers the only potential endgame content this game has to offer. Rating: 8.3/10
It was getting really tedious to edit a post with over 100 casinos in it. So I'm breaking it up to Nevada casinos and non-Nevada casinos. If you are reporting about a casino, could you please try to include the following:
Name of the casino
Where it's located
What time of day and is it a weekday or weekend?
Max odds
Field pays
Side bets available (Repeater, ATS, Firebet)
Are there dividers or how many are shooting per side
The more information we have, the better off we will be. We all know that tables can change rapidly. I saw a table go from 25 to 15 to 100 at the Flamingo in the course of a few hours. I'll try to keep the mins what is reported the most and add other information in the comments like "found this table at $5 on graveyard shift" so people konw that isn't the norm These tables can be a pain to maintain, so please provide as much information as possible. An informed roller is a beter roller.

Craps table opens up at 10am and its 5 dollars 90% of the time
Making good on this post. Disclaimer: I have never seen anything related to this Alvin and the Chipmunks series, and am coming into the third entry blind. Any misunderstanding due to this is entirely my fault for not keeping up with the deep interconnected mythology of the AatC universe. SPOILERS: I have to prove I watched this damned thing, so you're getting all the details. This movie is not awful. I was expecting far worse, honestly. If you've ever watched cartoons aimed at 3-5 year olds you can probably tolerate this(though I highly recommend actually having a 3-5 year old around since you can start playing with them to distract you from the movie). The shtick of this series, apparently, is that Alvin and his brothers Simon and Theodore are famous singers in a pop group(and get this: They're Chipmunks!); they get into wacky misadventures while high screeching covers of pop songs play in the background. I expect if you actually like any of the songs covered this will shift from annoying to insulting, but being largely ignorant of pop music circa 2010, it remained merely annoying for me. They are joined by 'The Chipettes' a gender-bent complement to AatC who have their own band, and all of them are stewarded by their ownemanagedad Dave. The movie begins on a cruise ship bouncing from one micro set-piece to another. While it's filled with 'musical' numbers, they come rapid fire and never seem to stick with anything beyond a quick 'remember this?' reference. I would not be surprised if they kept the songs short because they were able to avoid paying licence fees for the songs by using less than thirty second samples. After getting into some trouble with the captain, the Chipmunks are admonished by Dave, but they convince him to give them another chance; while Dave has dinner with the captain to smooth things over, the Chipmunks get up to some wacky shenanigans. The Chipmunks all exhibit their trade-mark personalities here as, astonishingly, they have to set up some character development later. Alvin here is the selfish(and annoying) one, Simon is the smart(and annoying) one, Theodore is the dumb(and fat, and annoying) one. The girl chipmunks get less attention individually but I get the impression their personalities directly mirror their male counterparts. Alvin charges off to party in the ship's casino, with Simon chasing after him to bring him back to their room, the Chipettes get into a... dance off(shudder)... with some twenty-somethings, and Dave eventually comes to round them up. We are also introduced here to Ian, the chipmunks' former ownemanager(but not dad), now working as a pelican mascot on the cruise ship. We're led to understand that he was a dick and cruelly kept his sentient chipmunks in cages, therefore it's funny that he's fallen on hard times. Also fallen on hard times: David Cross, who plays Ian, is reduced from the highs of blueing himself on Arrested Development to playing a minor character in a movie about singing rodents. The chipmunks are punished for their escapades by being restricted to shuffle-board as their only activity for the rest of their trip with Dave watching closely to keep them out of trouble. No sooner does Dave take a nap than the Chipmunks barter a kite from a fat kid to go parasailing, and shock and surprise they go flying off away from the ship, eventually landing on an island. Dave realizes they've gone missing and take a... hang glider?... off the ship to go after them; David Cross Ian tries to stop him, but the two end up crashing into the water. The humans eventually wash up on the same Island, where they surely meet up with the chipmunks and everyone learns a valuable lesson. My that ninety minutes flew by... OH GOOD LORD, WE'RE ONLY TWENTY MINUTES IN! The viewer is advised that panic attacks are normal, and to avoid hyperventilation by breathing through the nose, or into a paper bag. Ahem. On the island the Chipmunks attempt to survive, creating a SOS sign in the sand, starting a fire, fighting over the only morsel of food, all while grappling with the fear that they may never be found and worse, the existential dread that they may have annoyed Dave so much that he won't even bother to come looking for them. And singing annoying songs, and exhibiting rote character traits and generally making you wish you were doing anything else with your time. Meanwhile Dave and David CrossIan wash up on some other part of the island, where they will meander through the second act of the film with G-rated sniping at each-other. The chipmunks run into Zoe, another castaway, played by Jenny Slate(I had a Washed Up Actor joke cued up, but it turns out this came before anything else I'd seen her in). Some very boring jokes follow, but importantly we have a major plot point: Simon, the smart, responsible chipmunk, is bitten by a spider whose venom he knows, because he's the smart one, has the side effect of changing one's personality. The chipmunks go to sleep, and when they wake up Simon has turned into the outgoing, adventurous and french accented 'Simone'. This upsets the balance with Alvin who is confronted with his own inner demons realizing in watching 'Simone' that his own actions are often disruptive and counterproductive. The chipmunks pair off with their gender-bent mirror-images(something Freudian here, but I never read Freud, people just describe this sort of thing as Freudian). Girl-Simon is impressed by the antics of the drugged up 'Simone' who romances her with a golden bracelet he found exploring a waterfall, while Alvin and Girl-Alvin each reckon with the fact that they've been selfish and useless their entire lives, so they decide to be responsible and build shelters. Theodore and Girl-Theodore were... present. At this point the reader is encouraged to reflect on the fact that these Chipmunks all view Dave as their 'father', not simply their owner. This makes them all step-siblings, at least and their 'romantic' entanglements take on an entirely different slant. Combined with the fact that none of the male chipmunks wears pants, and the girls wear skirts hitched up above their waists gives the film a risque quality that I am shocked was allowed under a G-rating. Eventually Dave and David CrossIan meet up with the Chipmunks, just before the island... which is a volcano, by the way... begins to erupt. Alvin demonstrates he's matured and can be responsible, while Simon who is reverted back to his normal self must demonstrate courage to save Girl-Simon from Zoe, who's actually crazy, why not. Dave learns to trust his pets/children/employers, and David CrossIan realizes he was a dick when he owned/managed the chipmunks. Everyone convinces everyone else to be cool and they all escape the island together on a raft built by the rodents. One more musical number as the Chipmunks headline at the... International Music Awards? Is that a thing? Did they agree to be associated with this? Watching the chipmunks perform to a riotous crowd highlights how strange it is that a cover-band doing pop songs would rise to such heights of fame, ignoring the fact that their screeching high-pitched renditions of popular songs grates one to the soul, and that these sentient rodents are simply accepted as a part of society. THE END(thank god) Again, not a terrible kids movie; much better the farther they deviated from the musical shtick. Animation was good for the most part, even if what they chose to animate was questionable. Most of the humor was flat, the plot was predictable, but the ending was actually somewhat touching, having earned its emotional climax with fairly decent character arcs through the middle act. Score: 2/5 TL;DR A risque, sensual, half-nude, romp through the forest has these triplets questioning their morays, learning that forbidden love, treasure, and personal growth can all be found on the path to survival.
Once again, I'll start off with I responded to most in the last issue of revisited. Since the last chapter I've seen a few other posts about the offerwall (Bluedan), and even a shout out / more in depth guide video from Mysidia Gaming. Since my last post, I was in the middle of moving cross country and picked games that had no time limits. I'm thankfully more established in my new residence, and knocked back a few challenges recently. If the desire is there, I may do another post, or perhaps enough push has been done already and these aren't needed anymore, either way, let me know! -- As a bit of an extra preface, most of the games I played this time were base builders, if you aren't aware of them by now, they start off very intensely, and the more time that you're able to devote at the start, the faster your base snowballs and can finish. Expect to put in a few hours at the start, and check back after 2 hours, than 3 hours, 5 hours etc... the time continuously widens. Always try to be building your Main building before you go to sleep, use speed boosters when you wake up and continue etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ State of Survival - Construct a level 12 base. Game is pretty similar to build a base game. It has two types of combat, the first being troop vs troop (which is normal in any base builder game), and the second being troop vs stage (a bit of a twist, only while doing the story iirc), 2 of your units stay back shooting any zombies in range, while the third can move around to fixed points, dodging attacks and having zombies change routes. Potential visiore 1728, this took just 2 days, finished before I saved the girl... some say she's still out there waiting for me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Harvest land - Reach level 20. Decided to try something a little different, this build your island farmsville clone, seems like a nice change of pace at first glance... but quickly was a nightmare to play, nearly every single action you do nets some xp, the more complex, the more you gain... however, you only gain the xp once you pick up your object you completed. So if your food inventory was full (you had 3 different inventories, food, materials, defense), and you had 86 apples on the ground, that was 86 xp just waiting to be gathered. You can try to pawn off your goods once you gain access to the ship that goes to other players islands, but this was usually a hassle, if they didn't sell, now your boat is full of whatever, and unless you use gems, you can't remove them or change their price. You also had npcs come to your island asking for a combination of goods, yielding xp and money, sometimes worth it, usually not. Who wants to give up the mats needed to continue base growth for 57 xp? when I needed over 4000. If you do decide to play this, the wandering merchant that visits your island is very worth it, either he asks for gold and gives gems/goods, or asks for gems and doubles them, or usually materials to help upgrade your inventory. Potential visiore 768, for the amount given this wasn't worth it, I played about 1-2 hours a day for a full month and didn't even come close to completing this challenge. I hit 14/20, and the bell curve for xp was jumping up way faster than the actions I was gaining through rank ups or base building. Again, would absolutely skip and never look back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ King of Avalon: Dominion - Construct a level 13 base. Very basic base building game, nothing wild about this, join a guild, portal to where your other members are, and build up in solidarity. Potential visiore 1980, 1 1/2 days. Played several build a base games, unless they do something special or different, they really blend together. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Evony: The King's Return - Epic tier or historic tier hero. A build a base with a different mission, ok, let's take a stab. The two biggest things to note are 1, building a base to 9 or higher drops your safety shield, and 2 epic tiehistoric do NOT show up in the tavern until rank 11. Unlike some base builders, the requirements for ranking up weren't to build everything. What I mean is you didn't need level 5 farm to build a level 5 tower to build a level 5 embassy to build a you get my point... it was always walls + something, so getting to 11 was pretty quick, this part only took 1 day. The problem came into play with the cost of an epic tier hero... Which was conveniently waiting for me, when I looked into the tavern, sadly she cost 10 million gold. Your city doesn't generate gold, you get a npc city that does (and can get up to 2 more and higher rarity versions, but I was way too weak to capture any, I got obliterated against a normal when the combat information said I'd easily win), and you have event quest rewards. Gathering the gold took nearly 8 days in itself, my npc city made about 15k a day... however, there's currently an event going on to touch friendly goblins on the map for treasure, opening them has a chance at 10k or 50k gold. There's also greedy and golden goblins on the map, they drop 100 - 200k gold, yet I was never powerful enough to challenge them. What I can say though, is that the game was very generous with items for resources and time skips, at one point I had 1000x 5min skips, used them all, and a few hours later had 500x 10m skips, at one point i had 50x 60 min skips. I did level my base and tavern to 13 (higher tavern had higher chance for better rates to show up. Why didn't I go higher? The requirements needed specific research among other things, and not knowing or prepping beforehand... I'd have needed to research about 8 things before getting to that point... guess what researching takes? Gold... Potential visiore 3982, 8 days to complete. Unfortunately this game vanished from my list, and didn't pay out (I completed both epic and historic), so I begrudgingly deleted it without being bound or taking pictures. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guns and Glory - Construct a level 12 base. Normal build a base, pretty generous on resources and time skips. Nothing fancy or special here, probably a step back or 3 from Evony... I didn't even have a resource collection button, had to manually collect from everywhere. There are however a couple of codes that work giving you a nice hearty boost (20x 60m speed ups among other stuff!), I'll list below. You'll lose protection starting to rank up to 9, so keep that in mind. After a few quests you'll get a free 24 hour vip activation, use it, this alone lets your buildings be autocompleted from the 6 minute mark... MOST buildings can be built to 5 instantly, through the codes and other events, I managed at the end to have vip level 3, which really helped the start more so than later. Potential visiore 1152, 1 day to complete. I actually stumbled on the codes at the very end, you're locked out from trying codes for HOURS if you fail to successfully input codes, the first list I found online were old and outdated. All four codes give the exact same thing, no complaints though, they were very much worth it. Portrait in the upper left > settings > redeem code. Jianhaogog icrimaxgog historygog abkgog ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On a separate note, I got an email yesterday stating that a challenge I initially did that was rejected got overturned 2 months later... thanks Idle Heroes. Just goes to show that you should indeed send those reports in and all the unedited pictures you can, and be prepared to wait a long long time, it may just pan out. Do note, that you have to send in the initial complaint within 30 days of your challenged completion. supersonic- customer support @ ironsrc.com added a few spaces in case emails get wonky. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lastly, a guild member decided he wanted to play a bunch of the casino games, he stumbled onto this site that has a LOT of chips/coins/tokens/etc for many of the casino games listed. Maybe it's the final push to complete a challenge, maybe it's the thing you wanted to take that stab at one. https://www.peoplesgamezgiftexchange.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In case anyone needs their memory jogged, to see if a question was answered previously, or didn't get a chance to see the video Mysidia Gaming did and was curious, see below. https://www.reddit.com/wotv_ffbe/comments/hymb6b/offerwall_revisited/ the original post https://www.reddit.com/wotv_ffbe/comments/i1gnom/offerwall_revisted_part_2/ part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK6H8PWYluA Mysidia Gaming's video, pretty much a walk through of 2 of the challenges, he said he'd consider making more videos if the desire was there... however, I'm unsure if a second was made. EDIT he did indeed make a part 2, and a part 3! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqAy7aA4vBI part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hZ0-PJjr40 part 3
People frequently bring up the argument that vehicle speed can contribute to the feeling of size of the map They say that RDR2 feels bigger than gta 5 even though it’s smaller because the horses aren’t as fast as cars I’m gonna have to say this isn’t entirely true. GTA 5 feels smaller because the majority of its area isn’t playable, you play a bit in sandy shores and paleto bay and aside from that the whole map is just Los Santos. You don’t use most of the right side of the map that’s past the casino, none of the mountains are useful, the game isn’t playable in those areas When talking about map size it’s important to consider playability, having shit to do. If the majority of businesses can be entered in gta 6, and you can rob NPCs with mechanics that require actual skill and finesse, if you can get paid for stunts you do while off roading, or look for any of 50 different treasures that are hidden around the map worth actual money, those are the things that will make the game feel big. Because the entirety of the map you have something fun to do In gta 5 if you aren’t in a populated area the only thing you have to do is find a way to get back to a populated area, meaning that the majority of the game is unplayable In terms of actual playable area I’m sure that gta San Andreas is bigger than gta 5, because although gta 5 has a much bigger map, the majority of it is mountains. In gta SA there were 3 full sized cities and each was playable All I want is a map that’s 100% playable. This is why RDR2 can be fun despite sometimes being a mile away from another human. At any time you can hunt, or tame a horse, what have you.
What we need in gta 6 to avoid it feeling like the playable area is small
No more than one mountain should be in the game, all it does is serve as a barrier in gta 5 so that you can’t see the desert from the top of maze bank tower. That’s probably the only reason it’s there
NPCs should have interaction, even online. The ability to pick pocket NPCs or hold them up for money or whatever trinkets that are in their pockets would be nice. Maybe with a certain skill and finesse needed so that they’ll call the cops if you’re too aggressive or make your pick pocketing to noticeable or whatever. This allows for areas with minimal playability like paleto bay to seem playable
Animals should wonder the land, especially in online. There was a bit of this in gta 5 story mode but even that was lacking. There should be birds that walk around the metro, rats that rarely spawn that freak out NPCs, dogs which can be tamed and trained to find buried goods out in the desert, animals allow the less playable areas to still feel lively
The ocean should be playable. Maybe add buried treasure collectibles you can dive for that pay you, add ships that can be raided, and small islands with rich peoples houses. Maybe a weird rock formation that a treasure hunt leads you to which is too weird of an angle for you to get to by helicopter. Things like this would encourage boat exploration. Also, I can’t stress this enough. There should be actual fish models, seagulls that eat fish, and dolphins.
More animations. While not necessary for increasing the playable area size it means that the interaction with unique and obscure places will seem unique. Maybe there’s a specific marsh area where you trudge through different from anywhere else in the map. Maybe your character enters certain cars different, like jumping over the door into the seat if a top is down.
Maybe you could even choose animations which have different pros and cons. So maybe holding pistols sideways and gangster decreases accuracy but increases the amount of RP you get per kill, or hip firing a machine gun rather than holding it proper decreases accuracy but has a 1/8 chance of auto locking to the head rather than the body. Maybe you can choose between diving away from bullets which allows you to stay shooting while dodging or rolling which allows you to get back up to your feet faster Imagine if gta 5 has 100 brand new animations how much more interesting it would be to play. Animation variety absolutely increased the playability of a game because it doesn’t feel stale, and if you want a game to feel playable even in the most boring of places, a ton of animations is the way to do it
